Instagram is updating its web interface to take advantage of large screens on TechCrunch
‘“We know a lot of people use the web to multitask and we wanted to make sure Instagram was as great an experience as possible online,” [Adam Mosseri, Head of Instagram] said. He added this new design is cleaner, faster and easier to use.
This redesign — rolling out slowly to users — will make it easier to use Instagram on large monitors while switching between different tabs.”
Why Facebook redesigned Facebook.com on Engadget
'The website should also feel slightly snappier than before. That's because the visual redesign was supported by a massive infrastructure revamp. “We know from tons of data and research that every time we make our products faster or simpler, people use them more," Occhino said. "They share it more, they have a more rewarding experience. And so that was table stakes. The most important feature was that this thing is going to be fast and responsive.”'
